The Service Coordinator will travel around the State of Georgia visiting farmers and ranchers who have requested AgrAbility assistance. The purpose of the visit is to see what work tasks the individual needs to do and what is difficult to do due to their health conditions or disabilities.
The goal is to develop a plan that will assist the individual to continue farming. The plan may include identifying assistive technology needs (i.e. tractor lifts), rearranging their environment to make it easier to work, business planning for profitability and locating funding resources.
To implement the plan may include:
- Working with agencies such as Vocational Rehabilitation, Social
Security
and others.
- Working with University of Georgia students, faculty and staff
- Working with community businesses
- Applying for foundation funding
The Service Coordinator spends time in the field conducting site visits as well as devoting time to develop and write the plans. In addition, there is data that needs to be collected in the field and reported back to the office in Athens Georgia.
The Coordinator will be required to be physically in Athens, GA at least one day a week. The rest of their time will typically be spent traveling around the State.
This is a full-time benefited position at The University of Georgia. The position reports directly to the AgrAbility in Georgia Project Manager.
- Base Salary: $30,000
- Travel costs are reimbursable
